Wasps & Hornets
Paper wasps and yellowjackets build under eaves, in sheds and in the ground. Nests grow fastest in late summer.

Health risk
Signs to look for
Grey papery nests under eaves, decks or play equipment.
Wasps flying in and out of a hole in the ground or a wall.
More wasps than usual around bins and outdoor meals.
Why it matters
Wasps defend their nest aggressively and can sting repeatedly. Stings are dangerous for anyone allergic, and nests in walls can attract other pests.
How to keep them out
Keep bins closed and cover food and drinks outdoors.
Knock down small nests early in spring, before they grow.
Seal gaps in siding, soffits and vents.
How we treat them
Our technicians wear protective gear, treat the nest and remove it, then apply a repellent to stop new queens building in the same spot.
